About Us
Cornerstone Early Learning Center was established in 2006 by Amber Thompson and Jodi Svoboda. We started out as an In-Home preschool and expanded to our current facility in 2010. We offer Full Day Preschool and Part-Time Preschool to children ages 2-5 years. Our purpose is to provide a safe and healthy learning environment that focuses on the whole child. We believe that each child is unique with their own pattern of social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth. We encourage children to grow by allowing them to think for themselves, make decisions, work towards their own solutions, and express their own ideas and feelings. We are dedicated to building a foundation of knowledge that will encourage a lifelong love of learning.

Each day begins with “Circle Time,” where your child will learn necessary skills such as communication proficiency, emotional literacy, and conflict resolution. Circle time is an effective way of facilitating dialogue between the children and their teachers. Our group discussions will include thematic concepts, language development, and an introduction of “The Letters of the Week”.

Center time makes up a majority of the preschool day. Children will work in small groups to promote social interaction with peers and teachers, self-regulation of behavior, language development, and time management. Our center time includes small group of individual instruction in the following areas:

Jolly Phonics is a fun and child centered approach to teaching literacy through synthetic phonics. With actions for each of the 42 letter sounds, the multi-sensory method is very motivating for the children. Jolly Phonics teaches letters and sounds in an order that allows children to group letters to make words as early as possible, once a set is taught.
